Privacy Policy

The short version

The data you put into the tools on this site never leaves your device. There is no account to create, no file upload, and no database. We cannot see what you paste, because it is never sent anywhere.

Why that is true, technically

This site is built as static files — HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no server-side application behind them. Every tool does its work inside your browser tab. You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use a tool. Nothing you type or paste will appear there. The tools also keep working if you disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded.

You will see one request when the page first loads, which counts the visit — described under Analytics below. Nothing after that, no matter how much you paste.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no browser storage — no local storage, no session storage, nothing kept between visits. That is why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner, and it is a constraint we intend to keep rather than a state of affairs that happens to be true today.

Server logs

The pages themselves are delivered by a third-party hosting provider. Like any web host, it records basic technical information about requests — IP address, time, the page requested, and browser user-agent — for security and to keep the service running. We do not combine this with anything else or use it to identify individuals. It never includes the contents of what you paste into a tool, because that content is never sent to the host in the first place.

Analytics

We count page views using Vercel Web Analytics. It records the page you landed on, the site that referred you, your approximate country, and whether you are on a phone or a desktop — aggregated, so we can see that a tool is being used without knowing who used it.

It sets no cookie and stores no identifier, so it cannot recognise you on a second visit or follow you to another website. It is served from this domain rather than a third party’s, and it is never told anything about what you paste into a tool — that content is never sent anywhere, so there is nothing for it to receive.

We chose it over Google Analytics on purpose. Google Analytics would set cookies, which would mean putting a consent banner in front of you on every page — and it would send data to a company whose business is advertising. Counting visits does not require either.

Advertising

There is no advertising on this site today. We do intend to run display ads eventually — that is how a free site with no accounts and nothing to sell pays for itself. If and when that happens, this page will be updated before the first ad appears, and it will say plainly what the ad provider collects.
